David Newsom serves as chief legal officer for Hillwood and is a member of the Executive Committee. Newsom is responsible for all legal matters for Hillwood companies and their business activities. Newsom holds thirty years experience as a practicing lawyer in Dallas, Texas. Since 1983, Newsom served as a partner at Hughes & Luce, where he was charged with primary responsibility for all Hillwood legal matters.
In this role, he essentially functioned as Hillwood general counsel. Newsom joined Hillwood as chief legal officer in January 1999.
Newsom earned an undergraduate degree and a law degree from Baylor University.
