Jim Swaim serves as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. He oversees the company's shared services, including finance, accounting, tax, risk management, information technology and human resources. Swaim also assists with business planning for the company's real estate development and investment projects.
During his career, Swaim has worked in a variety of financial and accounting management positions, including serving on the Board of Directors of two publicly held companies. He spent five years as Managing Director/Senior Vice President of Security Capital Group, a multi-billion dollar worldwide real estate investment and operating company. Among Security Capital's real estate operating companies were ProLogis, Regency Centers, Storage USA, Archstone-Smith, Homestead Village and CarrAmerica.
From 1984-96 Swaim was Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Farah, an international apparel company. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1974.
Swaim earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas A&M. He is a member of the American Institute and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of Financial Executives International, where he is past president of the Rio Grande Chapter and currently program chair of the Fort Worth Chapter. Swaim is past board President of Hospice of El Paso, an alumnus of Leadership Fort Worth and currently an advisory board member to Community Hospice of Texas.
