Mark Rollins

Mark Rollins serves as the Managing Director of Hillwood Energy.  Hillwood Energy is the newly formed entity that oversees Hillwood’s oil and gas interests in the Barnett Shale and around the world.  Among Hillwood's oil and gas interests is a partnership formed in 2003 with Chief Oil & Gas and Collins & Young LLC to drill more than 75 gas wells at AllianceTexas.  At the end of 2005, 25 wells were producing in excess of 20 million cubic feet per day.  The estimated ultimate recoverable (EUR) reserves from a typical horizontal well at AllianceTexas is in excess of 2.6 billion cubic feet.

Hillwood Energy has unparalleled experience in combining top producing wells with world class surface development.  The 17,000-acre AllianceTexas development is only 30% built out, but already houses more than 140 companies in 2.4. million square feet and more than 5,000 single-family homes. The development also includes the nation's first industrial airport, one of the country’s largest intermodal yards, service from two of the nation’s largest  rail carriers, the intersection of major roadways, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and full digital capability.  Despite this developed, master planned area, Hillwood Energy is executing a plan that will fully exploit and transport the area’s significant natural gas resource with minimal surface impact.  This experience has uniquely qualified Hillwood to partner with other surface and mineral owners to maximize the combined value of their surface and mineral estate.

In addition, Hillwood Energy is aggressively acquiring royalty and mineral assets in the Barnett Shale and throughout the continental United States.  The purpose of this investment opportunity is to create a diversified portfolio of royalty and mineral assets.  A diversified portfolio would be one containing producing and non-producing interests in; 1) current core areas, 2) those in expansion areas that appear to be prospective using current technologies and economics, and 3) those beyond currently known expansion areas that may become prospective as technologies develop and allow for commercial quantities to be extracted.

Prior to joining the Hillwood team, Rollins served as Managing Director of PetroGrowth Partners, a boutique investment bank / private equity firm focused upon the energy business.  Rollins also spent more than a decade advising energy clients for some of the world’s top management consulting firms.

Rollins graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.  He completed his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
