Mike Berry

President, Hillwood Properties

Mike Berry is President of Hillwood Properties and leads development efforts for AllianceTexas, an 18,000-acre development that is recognized as one of the most unique master-planned communities in the United States. With 32 years of commercial real estate development experience, Berry oversees all management, operations and transactions for the development and serves as the company’s representative to its public-sector partners. Berry is also responsible for the management of Hillwood Properties’ service business, including aviation, property management, groundwater development, landscaping, Foreign Trade Zone and retail franchises.

Under Berry’s leadership, AllianceTexas has become a dynamic and diversified community that encompasses more than 35 million square feet, over 370 corporate residents, 37,000+ employees and more than 7,700 single-family homes. The project’s centerpiece is the Alliance Global Logistics Hub – an international trade and logistics complex offering one of the nation’s largest intermodal rail complexes, the world’s first industrial airport, and connections to state and interstate highways.

Berry began his commercial real estate career in 1982 at Woodbine Development Corporation. Since joining Hillwood in 1988, he has established a team that is nationally known for building major real estate facilities in all commercial real estate categories, including industrial, office, retail and multifamily. Bringing relationships, core assets and enhanced services together, Berry and his team leverage the company’s state-of-the-art infrastructure to expediently execute and deliver developed sites and state-of-the-art projects to market.

Berry is past Chairman of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He currently serves as a member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee as well as the boards of the Community Foundation of North Texas, Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, International Board of Visitors of the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, Moncrief Cancer Institute, North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee, Performing Arts Fort Worth, Safe City Fort Worth and the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show.

Berry is an active member of several professional organizations, including membership in the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council, Texas Business Leadership Council, Real Estate Roundtable and World President’s Organization.

Berry graduated from Vanderbilt University, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics. He received his MBA from Texas Christian University and completed his extended education at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design in the Advanced Management Development Program. Berry was inducted into the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors Hall of Fame in 2013.
