2005 RUN THE RANCH TO BENEFIT BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF NORTH TEXAS

WESTLAKE, Texas – The Fourth Annual Run The Ranch 5K and Fun Run benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Hillwood’s Circle T Ranch in Westlake, Texas. The race offers an opportunity for the public to experience the rolling hills, streams, lakes and wooded areas of one of the most picturesque pieces of property in North Texas.

Proceeds from the 2005 race will go to the area’s leading youth mentoring agency, Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas.

“Through mentoring, reading programs, donations and other activities, Hillwood has focused its community involvement on those organizations that benefit children,” said Bill Walker, director of community relations for Hillwood Properties. “We couldn’t ask for a better community partner than Big Brothers Big Sisters. Hillwood looks forward to taking another step with Big Brothers Big Sisters with their increased involvement in the annual Run the Ranch.”

The Fun Run will begin at 7:45 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 8:00 a.m. An awards ceremony will commence after the completion of both events. Trophies will be presented to the top three male and female finishers of the 5K in 15 age categories.

Participants can register online at http://www.lukeslocker.com/, at a Luke’s Locker location in Fort Worth, Colleyville or Dallas, or by mail to Run the Ranch, c/o Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas, P.O. Runners from across the Metroplex have come to Circle T Ranch annually to experience a 5K unlike any other in the area.

“Run the Ranch is one of the best short races I have ever seen,” said Dallas marathoner, Roger Foster. “It is absolutely unique. If there was ever a race that said ‘Texas’ this is it—long-horn cattle curiously judging the passing runners; beautiful ponds and meadows. And, the course marshals are on horse-back. It really doesn’t get much better than this.”

Circle T Ranch is a 2,300-acre project being developed by Hillwood. In addition to the Fidelity Investments campus, Circle T Ranch includes the DaimlerChrysler corporate campus and Vaquero, the private golf course surrounded by estate homes.

The ranch also is home to longhorn cattle, a herd of buffalo and more than 300 head of Brangus cattle. Future plans for Circle T Ranch include additional corporate campuses, two more golf courses, a 1.5-million square foot retail resort, and a resort hotel. Circle T Ranch is part of Hillwood’s 17,000-acre AllianceTexas development that also includes the commerce centers of Alliance and the high-tech residential community of Heritage.

Sponsors of this year’s event include Fidelity Investments, Hillwood, The Controller Group, Luke’s Locker, Fort Worth Star Telegram, Daystar Television Network, Jack in the Box, 95.9 FM The Ranch, Arlington Cast Stone, Coca-Cola, Thorlos, Brooks, Alliance Regional Newspapers, Dannon Yogurt, Pinpoint Marketing, The Solana Club, Tarrant County College Northeast Campus and Texas Land Advisors.
