Barco to supply technology for Victory Park media space

Hillwood and Hicks Holdings L.L.C. said Tuesday that Barco, a Belgium company that provides visualization and display services, will provide the technology for an outdoor media space in Victory Park.

The $3 billion-plus Victory Park development opens this year in Dallas near the American Airlines Center. The project will include the W Dallas Victory Hotel and Residences, dining, retail and office space.

Barco will provide LED walls that will be able to display digital art, advertising, entertainment and other activities. The big screens are commonly seen at concerts so visitors can get an up close view of the performer by looking at the screens.

A total of eleven individual LED screens will be mounted on rails and stacked two-on-two. There will be two fixed 20-by-20-foot tower displays, a digital portal and eight movable 15-by-26-foot LED walls.

“We expect 17 million-plus visitors annually through Victory Plaza,” said Jonas Woods, president of Dallas-based Hillwood Capital. “The Victory Media Network will offer intriguing and engaging video entertainment. Our programming will be rich with cultural and artistic content — but continually changing in order to keep it different and fresh. To do that, we’ll be showcasing film and digital art from local and national artists, as well as Dallas museums and galleries.”
