Developer Hillwood Communities has sold 120 acres in its Union Park community in Denton County to retirement housing builder Del Webb.
Del Web plans to build a 600-home age-restricted community as part of the 1,000-acre Union Park development on U.S. Highway 380 in the town of Little Elm.
The project will have homes for residents 55 and older. Del Webb already operates a successful community in Frisco.
“Hillwood Communities is excited to have the opportunity to work with Del Webb on such an innovative and efficient deal,” Fred Balda, president of Hillwood Communities, said in a statement. “Union Park is a beautiful community that has the small-town charm that is perfect for Del Webb’s popular, age-restricted communities.”
Hillwood said it chose the sale to Del Webb rather than build its own age-restricted residential community.
