Dallas Morning News: Commercial real estate company Hillwood wants to bring companies and major employers to the downtown Dallas area. The biggest new office projects in North Texas — Toyota, Liberty Mutual Insurance, State Farm, FedEx Office and Raytheon — are all in the northern suburbs. The new Hillwood Urban development firm has already begun planning large office buildings downtown and in Victory Park that would appeal to large businesses that want to be in the center city. “We’re looking to do core urban developments,” said Hillwood Properties president Mike Berry. “We’ve been invited to compete on major corporate office developments with the other firms that are in this mix. “We are going to chase business we haven’t been chasing.” Hillwood Urban is launching its program with potential development of more than 3 million square feet of offices on the north side of downtown Dallas.
