Elevating Fort Worth: They’re ensuring it’s not just ‘Cowtown’

We’re bringing you a new class of Fort Worth Newsmakers.

They include influential CEOs, real estate executives driving billion-dollar projects, hospital leaders who oversee thousands of essential workers and critical facilitators in the economic development pipeline.

Now in its third year, this isn’t an awards program. We don’t solicit nominations or convene judges to make selections. Senior newsroom leaders pick the Newsmakers based on our understanding of the business landscape and our expectations about who will shape the stories that matter in the western half of the Metroplex in 2026-27 and beyond.

Mike Berry

President, Hillwood

Berry oversees AllianceTexas, an economic powerhouse for Fort Worth that has attracted scores of businesses and spurred billions of dollars of economic impact in recent years. The decisions he makes will impact the growth and evolution of the city and wider region. The Cowtown native is also chairman of the board for the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership and a former Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce board chairman.

Alan Lund

Executive vice president, MP Materials

Lund was the first hire for MP Materials’ Fort Worth-based magnetics division in 2021. Now, the company is quickly expanding rare earth magnet production at its campus in north Fort Worth [AllianceTexas] to keep up with major contacts with the U.S. Department of Defense, General Motors and iPhone maker Apple Inc. And an even bigger factory, called 10X, is in the works in Northlake.
