Embry-Riddle, Alliance to hold aerospace supply chain summit

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and AllianceTexas have announced plans for an aviation and aerospace summit that will focus on the industry’s supplier base and new challenges and opportunities in the marketplace.

The 3rd Annual Aviation & Aerospace Manufacturing Summit is scheduled for Oct. 7-10 at the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth.

Organizers said conference will cover the national and global economic environment, restructuring of the U.S. Department of Defense, liquidity in capital markets, a forecast for air travel demand and air cargo capacity, workforce development, statewide economic development programs, technological advancements in the aerospace supply chain, and trends in research and development and post production.

The speakers scheduled to participate include Norm Augustine, the former president and CEO of Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter President and CEO John Garrison, Hawker Beechcraft Chairman W.W. (Bill) Boisture and Hillwood Development Chairman Ross Perot Jr.
