Fame is the game at Ghostbar

For those of us in the celebrity-watching industry, Ghostbar atop the W Hotel has been the gift that keeps on giving. This weekend, the 33rd-floor sky lounge will celebrate its first anniversary with a Friday night party featuring rapper and actor Nick Cannon as guest DJ.

Has it been only a year?

In those 12 months, Ghostbar has squeezed more celebrities through its doors than the LA County Jail.

Some of our favorites: Owen Wilson brought his allegedly secret girlfriend Kate Hudson there after the Dallas premiere of his brother Luke’s film The Wendell Baker Story. A month later, Kate and Owen split. Country star Carrie Underwood helped her quarterback beau Tony Romo celebrate his 27th birthday at Ghostbar. A month later, the National Enquirer reported that they split.

Nick Lachey had already split from Richardson-raised wife Jessica Simpson when he hit Ghostbar last fall. Clint Eastwood dropped in with his wife, Dina, while in town for a Dallas Center for the Performing Arts event. Justin Timberlake and producer Timbaland took over Ghostbar’s DJ booth after a show at American Airlines Center. Over-pumped former Texas Ranger Jose Canseco kicked back at Ghostbar in March. Then there was axed Sopranos capo Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto), Pamela Anderson ex Tommy Lee and virtually every member of the Cowboys, Stars and Mavericks.

Here’s to another Ghostastic year.
