FORT WORTH, TX – On Friday, November 20, 2009, Austin, TX-based FREEB!RDS WORLD BURRITO – the fresh fast-casual restaurant known for its Monster burritos – will celebrate the opening of its 26th restaurant, located in north Fort Worth, Texas at Alliance Town Center. To kick off the opening party in “not so normal” FREEBIRDS fashion, the first 25 fans (or Fanatics as they’re called) in line will win free burritos for a year.
The design of FREEB!RDS at Alliance Town Center represents the free-spirited, funky vibe of the FREEB!RDS brand. The space was inspired by rock music of the 60’s and 70’s, features large windows on two sides; a large, trellised outdoor patio; inspirational messages on the walls; and of course, music. Always striving to provide the very best in customer experience, the fountain drink station has moved to the front of the line so guests can grab a drink while they wait – just another little touch that makes FREEB!RDS unlike anything else in the marketplace.
As you enter the restaurant, to the right is a life-size “Libby” statue – FREEB!RDS’ signature Statue of Liberty sculpture – blasting through the wall on her red racing Harley Davidson. To the left is an enormous mural of the words “We Can Change the World” and “FREEDOM.” Over the register are the words “Peace. Love. Burritos.” The covered patio – located to the left of the main entrance – provides shade and comfort for those looking to dine outside without suffering from the Texas heat. Seating and tabletops feature hip graphics, slogans and images of luminaries such as Janis Joplin and John Lennon. The murals, sculptures and furniture are all created by FREEB!RDS’ artist of choice, Lynn Wilkerson.
The back wall of the restaurant is dedicated to the FREEB!RDS WORLD WORKS program which encourages staff members and guests to get involved in their communities. As part of the grand opening, FREEBIRDS is partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank to collect non-perishable goods that assists in both organizations’ missions to feed the hungry.
