DALLAS (May 22, 2008) — For the second consecutive year, Hillwood will host free movies on the Super Screens at the AT&T Plaza in Victory Park. GET REEL; The Summer Movie Series At Victory Park, which will be held every Tuesday night from June through August, as well as select Wednesday nights once a month, will begin June 3. All movies begin at 7:30 p.m.
The Dallas Opera will host the special screenings on select Wednesdays throughout the summer to celebrate their new fall season. These evenings will feature films that celebrate the spirit of the opera, including “Moonstruck” on June 17, “Carmen: Hip Hopera” on July 16 and “Rent” on August 13.
The action and sounds of “Top Gun” on the 31’ x 53’ HD Super Screens will provide a dynamic start for the summer movie series on June 3.
Victory Park features 11 large, high-resolution LED screens. Eight of these screens – 4 on each side of the plaza – move along horizontal tracks to allow for various configurations and motion possibilities. These screens will be combined in sets of 4 to create the Super Screens with HD resolution for the ultimate movie-going experience.
The plaza has become a major location for events, including the New Year’s Eve celebration, the Mardi Gras parade, the start-finish of the White Rock Marathon and viewing parties for the recent Dallas Stars playoff run.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets. Movie concessions, sodas and alcohol will be available for purchase on the plaza. Movie-goers also will have the option of watching the movies from one of restaurants surrounding the plaza: N9NE Steakhouse, NOVE Italian Restaurant, and Paciugo Gran Caffe.
