Hillwood to break ground on Heritage expansion in Fort Worth

Developer Hillwood Residential says it will break ground tomorrow on an expansion of its Heritage housing community in north Fort Worth.

Work is set to begin on another 78 lots in the 2,300-acre development at the northeast corner of Heritage Trace Parkway and Exposition Way.

While residential lot development in North Texas has slowed to a trickle in the last couple of years, Hillwood said that continued job growth in its AllianceTexas business district is creating a demand for more housing in North Fort Worth.

Builders Toll Brothers and Standard Pacific plan to construct houses in the new phase starting at $280,000.

During the last year, builders have started 232 homes in the Heritage project, making it one of the busiest subdivisions in Texas, according to Hillwood.
