LEGO Building Blocks; Deal Sheet

LEGO Systems expanded its North American Distribution Center at the Alliance Global Logistics Hub by close to 200k SF, moving to 596k SF in the Alliance Gateway 60 building in the Roanoke section of Alliance. Your move, Lincoln Logs.

A rep from developer Hillwood tells us that LEGO was able to expand just down the street from its existing site, avoiding labor and operational issues inherent with most moves. LEGO’s distribution center is managed by 3PL company Exel (which operates about 2.5M SF at Alliance). Exel was repped by Cushman & Wakefield’s Dan Cook, and Hillwood was repped in-house by Tony Creme. LEGO opened in Alliance in 2006. It’s the world’s fifth largest manufacturer of play materials (giving us flashbacks to sore feet from stepping on the tiny plastic blocks in the middle of the night.)
