North Fort Worth theater complex planned by Hillwood

Developer Hillwood Properties has landed a major entertainment venue for its AllianceTexas community in North Fort Worth.

Cinema operator Cinemark Holdings Inc. will locate a 14-screen theater in the Alliance Town Center retail complex on Interstate 35W.

Cinemark has purchased land for the new movie house that will open in summer 2012. The planned Cinemark XD Extreme Digital Cinema will be the fourth in the Dallas area.

Back in March Cinemark announced that it would construct the multi-screen cinema in a competing North Fort Worth development. But Hillwood was able to convince the Plano-based company to shift its plans to Alliance Town Center.

The project is at I-35W and Heritage Trace Parkway and is anchored by retailers including Best Buy , J.C. PenneyBelk and Sam Moon.

The regional retail center is a project of Hillwood and Trademark Property Co.
