Fishman to Lead Team Acquiring Industrial Properties in Targeted US Markets
DALLAS —Hillwood Investment Properties announced today that Tom Fishman has joined the firm as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions. In this role, Fishman will lead the team charged with acquiring industrial properties in target markets across the United States.
Earlier this year, Hillwood and Brookfield Asset Management announced a joint venture to acquire, develop and manage industrial property, particularly large warehouses. With an initial commitment of $400 million, the partnership represents a tremendous opportunity for growth and investment in the industrial real estate market. As EVP of Acquisitions, Fishman will play a key role in identifying properties for purchase that meet the financial, geographic and functional requirements of the partnership.

Prior to joining Hillwood, Fishman oversaw acquisition, dispositions and financing for a private equity firm specializing in real estate acquisition and ownership. Over the past ten years, he has acquired more than 31 million square feet through 90 separate transactions involving both major institutions and private investors, the value of which exceeds $1.3 billion. His experience in financing includes leadership of 30 transactions totaling over $1 billion, involving major life insurance companies and banks. Seasoned in the industry, his real estate expertise includes accounting, portfolio management, acquisitions and dispositions. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Accountancy. Fishman also served in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years.
