In the tradition of fashion editors leaving journalism to explore other sides of the industry, luxe’s own Jackie Bolin is doing just that. This month, our now-former colleague is scheduled to open VOD in Victory Park. A group effort by Bolin, former LFT buyer Liz Thompson and teacher Elizabeth O’Mahoney, the store has scored a slew of covetable and not widely available labels, including Jane Mayle, Alexander Wang, Luella Bartley and hot new bag line Pauric Sweeney.
Also contributing to the mix: Supermodel Erin Wasson is curating a small jewelry collection, and vintage pro Kerry Bonnell will offer special items (Leger, Alaia, Ossie Clark) from archivevintage.com.
Bolin plans to continue contributing to luxe (non-conflict-of-interest stories only, of course), and we’re absolutely certain we’ll be shopping at VOD. As for that name? It’s short for Valley of the Dolls, a wink at Bolin’s own author-inspired moniker – Jacqueline Susann Bolin.
