Hillwood Communities’ Harvest Lands New Coffee Shop

Hillwood Communities is proud to announce the grand opening of Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures, an onsite coffee shop at its Northlake/Argyle master-planned community of Harvest, that sells both artisan coffee and one-of-a-kind gifts.

Located in the hundred-year-old Faught House, a farmhouse at the center of the Harvest development, Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures was founded by Jim and Crystal Terry. Former pastors with a love of flipping historic houses, the married couple always dreamed of opening a coffee shop of their own.

“When we saw the farmhouse, we felt inspired. We immediately fell in love with the Hillwood family,” said Crystal. “We were able to combine our passions for restoration, people and coffee. God put us in the right place at the right time.”

The Terrys are proud to say that they could not have done it on their own. Crystal’s brother, Craig Briggs, is the owner of Hidden House Coffee, a small chain of top rated coffee shops in California. As Hidden House’s sister coffee shop, Farmhouse receives unique barista and management training from them, as well as routine distributions of fair trade roasted coffee beans, specially picked by Crystal’s nephew.

Luckily, Farmhouse’s menu isn’t solely focused on artisan coffee. In addition to chai tea and lemonade, Crystal and her team bake delicious homemade treats like breakfast burritos, pastries, molasses cookies, muffins, sandwiches and on every Thursday, tacos. Farmhouse also features hidden treasures from around the North Texas community, including soy candles, Amish made signs, blankets and other repurposed antique furniture and nick knacks. Customers can shop, sit on the front porch of the yellow house and enjoy a true artisan experience.

“The coffee shop is a game changer. As people are looking to buy a new home, they are able to see the warmth of the neighbors,” said Crystal. “It really does have an old town feel.”

The grand opening is September 23 and will last from 7 am until 7 pm. Special events include face painting, a petting zoo with pony rides, hay rides, snow cones and from 1-7pm, one drink will be half priced every hour. There will also be hourly raffle drawings that feature a year of free coffee and a gift basket from Magnolia Market.

“We are excited to have Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures onsite at Harvest,” said Angie Mastrocola, senior vice president of Hillwood Communities. “It is a wonderful addition for our residents and furthers our vision of creating community.”

Anchored by commercial and community farms, Harvest is a 1,200-acre walkable community designed to cultivate connections between neighbors. Pedestrian-friendly walkways, soft trails, and a 1.5-mile linear park connect the 3,200 single-family homes with flexible indoor and outdoor gathering places. Harvest combines the authentic attraction of country living within the framework of a modern, walkable community.
