DENTON, TEXAS MAY 4, 2026 – As Landmark by Hillwood opens to future residents and the greater Denton community, Hillwood is marking the milestone with a local partnership rooted in the city’s spirit of giving.
Now on tap at Denton County Brewing Company, Pilot Knob Beer is a Denton-made collaboration that brings together local business, local agriculture and local impact.
Brewed with wheat grown in Denton, and created in partnership with one of the city’s best-known breweries, sales of the beer will benefit Denton Community Food Center.
“For Hillwood, this partnership is not just with a brewery. It is a partnership with Denton as a whole,” said Andrew Pieper, Senior Vice President of Hillwood Communities. “And with every pint sold, $1 will be donated to Denton Community Food Center, extending the partnership’s impact beyond the taproom and into the community.”
Pilot Knob Beer takes its name from one of the city’s most recognizable natural landmarks. At 839 feet, Pilot Knob is the second-highest elevation point in Denton and one of the defining features of Landmark by Hillwood. Pilot Knob is now under a legal conservation easement, memorializing its status for the City of Denton in perpetuity.

Surrounding Pilot Knob, Landmark by Hillwood is planned with access to approximately 1,100 acres of parks, trails and outdoor recreation opportunities, giving future residents and the broader Denton community new ways to experience a part of the city that has long remained out of reach.

Pilot Knob Beer, a 5.1% ABV German-style hefeweizen with a hazy appearance and subtle notes of banana, clove and orange, is now available on tap at Denton County Brewing Company, with $1 from every pint sold benefiting Denton Community Food Center.
